Wooden Trait of the Week:

FOR THURSDAY – Some people succeed because they are exceedingly talented – their abilities rise above everyone else’s. But often success comes from being ready and paying attention to what’s going on around you. Hold the door open for the next person walking behind you, notice when someone is having a hard day and needs a little extra compassion, be alert to the deadline for the assignment and the announcement that says when practice starts. Live your life being aware of others and flexible enough to respond to the needs and the changes around you. People will appreciate this and reward you with their respect and trust.
FOR FRIDAYJohn Wooden’s take on alertness> Be observing constantly. Stay open-minded. Be eager to learn and improve. The leader with alertness has the mental quickness to recognize changing circumstances and adjust accordingly
