HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
Volleyball: The 6th and 8th grade teams defeated Milford last night while the 7th grade team lost. Tonight: 7th & 8th grade TCC Tournament Games at Nash. 8th grade plays at 4:00 and 7th grade plays at 5:00. Both teams will play Cissna Park. The bus will leave at 3:00 pm and 7th/8th grade players will be dismissed from 5th hour class at 2:50 pm. Good luck ladies!
Wrestling: Congratulations on last night’s 8th Grade Night Win over Manteno! 67-48. Tonight: Practice from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
Boys’ BB: All players need to return washed uniforms, practice jerseys, and warm-ups to Coach Boyd or Coach Kimmel. 5 players left: Tank, Aayden, Jose, Jax, and Israel. We need these ASAP!
Cheer: If you didn’t turn in your uniform to Coach Pankey at last night’s pizza party, please get it to Mr. Kimmel this week!
Scholastic Bowl: Next practice will be TONIGHT from 3:30-4:30 pm.
Baseball Sign-Ups: Baseball and Softball Youth/Rec League sign ups are going on now. Sign up by 2/18 at regular price….. if after 2/18 there is a $20 late fee. No signups will be accepted after 2/25!

Art Club: 7th grade will meet every Tuesday in February after school until 4:30pm, next one is TUESDAY Feb. 20 . Even if you haven’t been able to attend so far this year, you are welcome to join in this month.

Fact of the Day: The iconic chalky heart-shaped candies that have been passed out lovingly every Valentine’s Day started out as lozenges. According to the Food Business News, pharmacist and inventor Oliver Chase created a machine that would quickly create the lozenges before switching to using the machine to create candy—later known as Necco Wafers.
Chase’s brother came up with the idea to print messages on the candy in 1866, and the candies got their heart shape in 1901, appealing specifically to Valentine’s Day sweethearts.
