Announcements: Friday February 2, 2024              

Volleyball:    All three teams lost last night against PBL.    Tonight:  7th and 8th grade practice from 3:30-5:15 pm.   6th Grade:  No practice tonight but games tomorrow against Cissna Park.   6th grade players need to arrive by 9:30 am on Saturday.  

Wrestling:  Practice from 4:00-6:00 pm 

Boys’ BB:  The 8th grade boys lost to Prairie Central last night in the Regional Championship to end their season.  Thanks to our 12 8th graders on an outstanding season…winning 16 games and the Iroquois County and Twin County Conference Tournaments.  

Scholastic Bowl:  Parent approval slips are due Friday Feb. 2nd. If you haven’t gotten one from Mrs. Wagner yet, stop by her room anytime. 

Student Council: Bring in pop tabs to support the Ronald McDonald house. We will accept tabs through Feb 9th. Winning class gets ice cream and this counts for one of  Raider Recipe goals for 3Q

Student council will be selling bundles you can send to your friends for Valentine’s Day. Each bundle will consist of a mini stuffed animal, a drink, and candy bar. They are $3. Please pick up an order form in the office. Forms are due Thursday, February 8th.  

IWMS Campus Life:  

Art Club:    7th grade will meet every Tuesday in February after school until 4:30pm, first one is Feb. 6 . Even if you haven’t been able to attend so far this year, you are welcome to join in this month. 

Bowling Opportunity:  On Saturday, February 10th from 4-6pm, any 6th-8th graders have an opportunity for free bowling, food, and prizes at the Lucky Lanes in Iroquois, IL.  Mr. Ehmen has fliers if you are interested!!!

Fact of the Day: This morning, Punxsutawney Phil, the official weather groundhog, did not see a shadow and predicted that we will have an early Spring.  However, Phil has only been “right” 39% of the time.
