January 20 Announcements                                                      

Boys’ Basketball:   The 8th grade team lost a close game to Momence last night while the 7th grade came out victorious.   The 7th grade team broke a 7th grade BBB school record for wins in a season with 20!   Congrats boys!  Tonight:  7th Grade Practice from 3:30-5:00 pm    8th Grade:  OFF   
Cheerleading:  None
Wrestling:  Practice tonight at Nash Middle School from 4-6 pm.  
Girls’ Volleyball:   Both the 7th and 8th Grade lost in two sets to Prairie Central last night at home.    Tonight:  No Practice     Saturday:  7th and 8th Grade Games at Hoopeston Area  10:00 am.   Bus Time:  8:45 am from IWMS!  
Student Council:  Pennies for pizza starts today until Feb 8th. The grade that brings in the most amount of money ( over $50) will receive pizza. For every dollar you bring in, a chain will be hung in your hallway to show your progress. Money raised will go to benefit the students. 
Scholastic Bowl:  TBA

Art Club:   8th grade will meet again next Tuesday January 24. 

Locker Rocker TripThe 1st Semester Locker Rocker Bowling trip will be Friday January 27.  Students that qualified need to return your permission slips and $10 ASAP.    Deadline is Thursday!

Chess Club:  Please be advised that Chess Club will be after-school on Wednesday evenings.  Students will meet after school till 4:30.  Students will need to coordinate their own rides for pick-ups.  The first Chess Club meeting will be on January 25th.  If you are interested, please return a signed permission slip.  There will also be a virtual club set up, as well.  For any further details, please see Mr. Snowden.  

Fact of the Day:   Here are some more wacky state laws:  In Alabama, it is illegal to wear a fake mustache in church that causes laughter. It is illegal to eat a frog that died in a jumping contest in California.  In Georgia, you are forbidden to keep an ice cream cone in your back pocket on Sundays.  If you have one arm, in Iowa, you are not allowed to charge for your piano playing.  And in Maine, you are currently breaking the law if you have your Christmas lights up after January 14.  

Homework Club:  Tuesdays & Thursdays we will host a Homework club from after school to 4PM.  This will be hosted in Ms. Gorbett’s room.
