Art Club:  Will continue next Tuesday for 8th grade.     

Baseball:   Pizza Party will be tomorrow during your lunch hour!  Plan accordingly and don’t pack a lunch!  
Boys’ Basketball: Open Gym:  TONIGHT from 3:30 – 4:45 pm.   Players must have a physical on file in the office to participate.   Participation is optional.  Practice starts Oct. 17 from 3:30-5:15 pm.  
Cross Country: Please turn in WASHED uniforms ASAP to Mr. Kimmel!    7 more to go!  
Cheerleading:  None
Girls’ Basketball:  Games tonight at GCMS.   5:30 pm.   Bus time:  4:15 pm.    If you need to stay after school due to the early bus, you can be supervised in Mrs. Pankey’s room.   
Student Council:  All popcorn forms and money need to be turned into Miss Cabrera today! 
Thank you to all who participated in the canned Food Drive. We have 337 cans to bring to the food pantry congrats! The Advisory that brought in the most items and will be receiving donuts is Ms. Gorbett’s class! Congrats! 

Class War Update:   As we head to the 2nd Quarter next week, 7th grade is currently leading in Class War Points with 16.   6th & 8th grade are tied with 10.   For each event a class earns +5 for 1st, +3 for 2nd, and +1 for 3rd.   

Turkey Trot:  The 11th annual 5K Raider Run/Walk for West to benefit Iroquois West Schools will happen on Saturday, November 12.  If you are interested in this event, there are details in the office.  

Picture Retake:  Students, please remember that if you were absent for Picture Day or were not pleased with your cheese, picture retakes are Friday!!!  

Raider Recipe Tally:  Students, please note that TOMORROW is the end of the 1st Quarter.  Make sure that you are checking your grades and checking your progress on the Raider Recipe.  Friday, October 21, we will host the 4th annual Raider Run for those students who qualify.  We hope to see you on the RUN!!!

Fact of the Day:  A newborn giant panda is about the size of a stick of butter.  Fully grown, they are approximately 3 feet in height but can weigh up to 300 lbs.  In a single day, they can eat up to 80 pounds of bamboo.  Can you say high fiber diet?
