Fact of the Day: The season of Autumn is not caused by our distance from the sun. Rather, the seasons come about due to the tilt of the earth. When the northern hemisphere tilts toward the sun, we get spring and summer. Gradually, right now, we are beginning to tilt away from the sun; fall and winter. So remember, distance has nothing to do with it…it is the tilt.
