Student Council: During the week of Feb 11 your student council will be having a pop sale during lunches. Regular cans of pop will be $1, but on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of that week you can buy a special CRUSH pop for your valentine! You will be able to add a written message and a piece of candy to your CRUSH valentine for $2. All CRUSH valentines will be delivered Valentine’s Day during advisories. Thanks for supporting your student council!
Pasta for Pennies: IWMS we have kicked off our Pizza for Pennies fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! You should have received an individual collection box to take home and a hand out for you and your family to read. Be sure to check the hand out for the instructions on how to create an online donation account. Spread the word to your family and friends to donate online! Keep bringing in change as well so you can help your advisory work towards a pizza party! We will be continuing the fundraiser all the way to March 1st with a spirit week the last week. Last year, our school raised just over $2,000! Let’s reach for the goal of getting over $2,100 this year! Donate for a great cause to help kids and family with cancer! Math Team: Congrats to the IWMS Math Teams who competed last night at the Momence Math Competition.
7th grade took 3rd place overall and were 1st in relay and 3rd in team. 6th grade was 3rd in team and 8th grade placed in 3 of the 4 events with 3rd place in Team and Relay and 1st place in Mental Math.
Congratulations also to the 8th grade Mathcounts team who competed Saturday at Olivet Nazarene University. They placed 3rd and individually Gabe Rinkenberger was 5th overall and Rene Hinojosa was 9th.
Congrats to the 7th grade math team as they finished 3rd place in the Class A Division last night in the Momence Competition.
Library: The library today is closed. Please do not venture into the library for today. It is being reserved for 8th grade testing.
Scholastic Bowl: Next practice is after school tomorrow until 4:30.
Soccer Sign-Ups: There are area soccer sign up forms in the office. You must have forms returned by February 15. The participation fee is $65. Practices will begin the week of March 18th.
PE: All students need to bring their Chromebooks to class today (Thursday).
Art Club: 7th grade art club will meet next Wednesday until 4:30 pm.
Library Fines: Remember, if you have a library fine, you need to pay that fine immediately!!!
