Baseball: The Raiders will host the Hawks of Prairie Central after school today at 4:30. Remember to get ready in the locker room and then walk to White Field. If you can, get out there and cheer on our Raiders!!!
Girls’ Basketball: Practice today after school at 3:45 and will run to 5:30pm. The Girls first home game is next Tuesday, September 11 at 5:30 PM. The IW Booster Club will be selling activity passes and apparel at the game.
Little Raider Cheer Camp: Iroquois West High School will be hosting a cheer camp for grades Kindergarten – 8th grade. You need to fill out a form (found it the Information Center) and return by September 12th to participate.
Campus Life: Campus Life Starts next Monday 6:30-8 at the Garage Youth Center in Gilman. Kickoff is this Saturday 6pm at the Gilman Elementary ballfield. We are having a Paint War followed by Blacklight dance/games at The Garage 7-10pm.
Student Council: Any student wanting to apply for student council this school year must pick up an application form from Ms. Karner in room 338 or from the Information Center in the lunchroom. Please return forms by the first meeting which will be before school at 7:45 on Friday, September 7th. Please see Ms. Karner in 338 with any questions.
Picture Day: Picture day will be September 11.
On This Date In History: On September 6, 1522, Ferdinand Magellan’s crew returned to a port in Spain being the first people to circumnavigate the globe. Only 18 men out of 260 survived the three year voyage (even Magellan himself died during the trip). The trip began with five ships but only returned with one, named the Victoria.
