Athletics:   Sport contact days will begin in one week.  Remember that you have to have a current physical on file in the office and a signed consent form from your parents in order to participate!  Many of you still need to turn in consent forms!   Eligibility will be checked on Friday November 6 so get off to a good start in your second quarter classes!

Raider Run:  Will be held on Friday afternoon.   Students that did not qualify were sent an email yesterday afternoon.  Please check your email during Advisory this morning to know for sure.   You only received an e-mail from Mr. Kimmel if you DIDN’T QUALIFY!   Each Advisory teacher was sent a spreadsheet of qualifiers so you can also double check with a teacher!

Bully Prevention Month:  This is the last week to enter your essay for Bully Prevention month! If you are interested in winning a $20 Target gift card, you can enter an essay contest. Read the flyers around the school or ask Mrs. Sawinski for details!

Red Ribbon Week: Red Ribbon Week continues today! If you would like your name to be added in a raffle to win a bag of Halloween candy, dress up every day Monday-Thursday. Today’s theme is Put a Cap on drugs!  Tomorrow’s theme is Raider Pride.   Wear school colors!     Also…if you donate $3 to the Student Council on Friday, you will be permitted to wear your Halloween costume. Please bring your money to the office!

Also, if you would like to pledge to be free from drugs, sign your name on an owl in the main hallway!

Election Day: Don’t forget to check the bulletin board by the office to inform yourself about your candidates you will be voting for on Monday Nov 2nd. Who will be voted the best actor for IWMS? You’re the ones that get to decide! Every vote counts!

Fact of the Day: Halloween comes from a Celtic festival for the dead called “Samhain.” Irish Celts believed the ghosts of the dead would roam the Earth on this day, so people would dress up and leave “treats” out on their front doors for the roaming spirits.  The largest pumpkin ever measured was grown by Norm Craven, who broke the world record in 1993 at 836 lb. That seriously is the size of a Walrus!  Coo-Coo Ca-Choo!!!

Lunch For Today:   Spaghetti, lettuce, garlic bread, mixed fruit, and milk

Thursday:  Ham and cheese on bun, carrots, pears, sun chips, and milk

Friday:  Cheese pizza, lettuce, oranges, double chocolate cookie, and milk
