Scholastic Bowl: Practices will begin next week on Tuesday. Follow your schedules in your information packet and attend as many as you can in January. Our first match is at the end of February. Let’s get ready to start our season strong!
Student Council: Previously, it was announced that your next meeting would be held on January 10. However, this date is being pushed back. Your next StuCo meeting will be held on January 17 at 7:45 in Mrs. Sawinski’s room!
Concession Workers: Attention Students: If you would like to help with concession stand, please talk to Mrs. Sawinski. If you help, you will be able to get a Raider Give-Back form to go towards your Raider Reward. Again, see Mrs. Sawinski.
Youth Basketball: Don’t forget that forms for Youth Basketball (any 6th grader) are due on Friday, January 24 to the office. We will get these to Coach Arie.
Policies & Procedures: Students, two things. Please remember that you can bring water to class but that is the only beverage allowed. Please note that you are not allowed to drink juice, coffee, or any other beverage, other than water. That is to protect your Chromebook and others around you. Also, cell phones are NOT allowed to be carried around the school. If you cell phone is seen, teachers have every right to confiscate your phone and turn it into the office. Again, this is a safety and security issue. Cell phones should not be stored in pockets, hoodies, pencil bags or folders. Please keep all cellphones in your locker.
Wacky Laws: In Alabama, bear wrestling matches are prohibited. In Alaska, it is illegal to view moose from an airplane. And in Arkansas, it is illegal is mispronounce, “Arkansas.”
Homework Club: Starts NEXT Tuesday, January 14th from 3:20-4:20pm in Mrs. Carley’s Room.
Mark your calendars—-the IWES Carnival will be FRIDAY, MARCH 13 at the Gilman Elementary building from 6:00 to 8:00 pm! Seeking volunteers to help, more info to come! Raider Givebacks given for volunteering.
